A digital pen or clever pen , is an input device that captures handwriting or brush strokes from users and converts handwritten analogue information created using "pen and paper" into the data digital, allowing data to be used in various applications. This type of pen is usually used in conjunction with a digital notebook, although the data can also be used for different applications or just as a graph.
Digital pens are generally larger and have more features than active pens. Digital pens usually contain internal electronics and have features like touch sensitivity, input keys, memory for storing handwritten data and transmission capabilities.
