A tooth that cleans a branch or datun is a tool made from a branch of a tree. This can help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

History
Chewing stem is a branch or root of a particular plant that is chewed until one end is frayed. This tip is used to brush your teeth, while the other end can be used as a toothpick. Commonly used plants have high tannin (astringent and antibacterial) contents or other compounds that are beneficial to gum and tooth health. The earliest chewing stick has dates to Babylonia in 3500 BC and Egyptian tombs from 3000 BC; they are mentioned in Chinese records dating from 1600 BC and in the Tipitaka, the Buddhist Canon, which is said to tell the events that occurred in northwest India around the 5th century BC.
In Africa, chewing is made from the tree of Salvadora persica, also known as the "toothbrush tree".
In Islam, this tree is traditionally used to make chewing sticks called miswak, as is often suggested in hadith (written tradition relating to the life of Muhammad).
Traditional Sikhs still use today's datun as it is written in their scriptures:
???? ??? ??? ??? ?? ??? ???? ??? ?? ? (??)
("Dear, everyday natural brushes and pain that you will never get." (23) ")

Advantages and disadvantages
When compared to a toothbrush, teeth cleaning a twig has several advantages:
- More ecological in the life cycle
- Lower cost (0-16% of toothbrush cost)
- Independence of external suppliers if made at home from privately owned trees
- Low maintenance, with some twigs need to be moistened with water if it becomes dry, to ensure the tip is soft. Edges can be cut again to ensure cleanliness, and should not be stored near the sink. Twigs are replaced every few weeks to maintain good hygiene.
- No need toothpaste
On the other hand, different tree species have varying degrees of violence as well as synthetic toothbrushes, so careful selection of appropriate hardness is required before use. Excessive rubbing can also carry the risk of gum damage.
