Molly McButter's Natural Butter Flavor Sprinkles , often referred to simply as Molly McButter , is a butter substitute butter flavor produced by B & G Foods. It was developed by the food chemist at Alberto-Culver as a substitute for lower calories for butter.

The listed ingredients of Molly McButter Natural Butter Flavor Sprinkles include the flavor of natural butter, butter, buttermilk, and partially hydrogenated soybean oil. As a result of partially hydrogenated oil materials, Molly McButter contains trans fat.

Consumer Reports has a food scientist and taste tester evaluating Molly McButter, along with two competing products, in 1989. The team reports that Molly McButter has a "taste like butter" and "very few notes of original dairy products" but also has a "chemical taste" and "a bit salty". Consumer Report also notes that Molly McButter is significantly more expensive than butter, and that it has the most sodium per serving of butter studied, contains nearly three times that of any competing product.

In 1990, Molly McButter was available in butter, cheese, and sour cream flavor. For each flavor, one serving of half a teaspoon - described by the producer as equivalent to three tablespoons of butter - contains four calories compared to nearly 20 calories in half a teaspoon of butter, but also contains 90 milligrams of sodium. Products can be sprinkled over cooked foods such as rice or vegetables, or used in recipes to replace butter, cheese or sour cream.

In 1993, The Ladies' Home Journal runs a contest where readers submit recipes they make using Molly McButter, with the winners to receive new kitchen utensils and cash awards.

In 2009, Molly McButter and Mrs. Dash Seasoning Blends (also owned by B & G) works with the Idaho Potato Commission, an Idaho state agency, to promote retail sales of potatoes to consumers. The partnership sponsors an Idaho Potato Retail Display Contest, scheduled to coincide with the Potato Lover Month, in which retailers compete for prizes including cash awards.

Molly McButter continues to be recommended by some authors as a healthy or low fat alternative to butter in 2013.
